The Fabric Of Fear - Precious Gistz

Why should I get my hopes up when we all know "hope deffered makes the Heart sick"?

Perhaps those who like Abraham, hope against all hope, are just being optimistic, or are they plain stupid? Surely there must be a reason for their hope?

When we say "Don't get your hopes up", we say it with good intentions, but can we out rightly say that if the issue of disappointment were removed we would not hope? Would we not be expectant if we know we will not be disappointed? But then, how can we be so sure right?

Hope is expectancy; you don't just hope without a fore-knowledge. Hope doesn't stand on chance; it needs a backup.

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for". To believe something is to expect it to be. Perhaps all our hope needs is the assurance of faith.

This faith may not instantaneously materialize in things we can see; it could be a knowing rather than a feeling. This faith is best materialized in our knowledge of God's love for us. So, sometimes knowing He loves us is all our hope stands on even at the brink of seemingly looming disappointments.

We have spent so much time clothing our fear of disappointment with the fabric of "don't get your hopes up" that we forgot, God, who understand our fears, has sent us His Spirit of love, so we don't have to stay under the paralyzing effect of the spirit of fear.

So, get your hopes up! Like Paul told the Roman church, I assure you "This hope is not a disappointing fantasy for we can now experience the love of God cascading into our Hearts through His Holy Spirit that lives in us" and "this perfect love, drives out all fear"
