The Barrier 2: The Other Side Of Fear

The Barrier 2: The Positive Side Of Fear

My last post was about overcoming your fears, and a lot was said about why you need to overcome it, why it's bad to let your fear keep ruling you, and why you need to break the fear barrier.

But in this post we will be looking at the positive side of fear, feel free to call the good side of fear. One thing I have come to realize is that, most things in life is relative (i.e. they have two sides). What's bad to you might be pleasurable to me. It's all about our perspective. So we will be looking at fear today form another perspective, looking at the positive side of fear(I sound likes my teacher)

Overcoming fear Quote

Like I said in my last post, fear has a purpose, for after all, it is a genuine human emotion, and feeling it  doesn't make you weak. I mean if you cannot feal fear (if that's is possible), you should check yourself. Something might be wrong with you, and you need to do something about it ASAP.  probably run some checkups or see a therapist. But honestly I don't think it is possible, and if it is that must be some super human feet.

You might be like, Hey! Peep Squeak!(I don't even know what that means) that's the goal man(With a THUG-ISH accent),  being afraid sucks, so why are you telling me that my lack of fear is not good and that is probably not possible. Well then, you need to continue reading article.

Overcoming Fear quote - precious Gistz

I read an article Brian Tracy wrote, and I quote him He said "fear is something we learn as we grow"  because you see, non of us are born with fears. New born babies do not have fears. As the child starts growing, and then begin to try out things for it's self, it starts developing fears, as a result of some painful experience, because they probably don't want to feel the pain again. I mean who truly knows with babies.

The truth is you discover new fears as you grow, as you try attempting, new things. And it is all normal, it's okay, you are only human after all.

Why is it healthy to have fears?

Having fears is pretty normal, and here are 4 valid reasons you should know.

1. Fear keeps you safe: what are you still waiting for? an explanation! Come on it's a pretty straight forward point. If you see a dog barking at you, and you are scared it might bite you, I think that is an healthy fear. Not that I am afraid of dogs not anything.

2. Fear helps you focus: have you ever been sacred of failing, particular a very important exam, you discover that all you think about is that paper, what runs through your mind (if it has legs) are thoughts about the exam, it is now left for you to choose how you react it. It is either react to it positively by using  it as a driving force to study more or negatively buy just concluding you are a failure even before writing. The choice is totally yours.

3. Fear is our survival responses: Fear Prepares us to react to danger once we sense it. Our body release hormones(adrenaline) that kinda gives us super human ability for a moment That's why you see people run, or jump some distance involuntarily without thinking when they are startled.

4. Fear can become pleasurable: have you ever wondered to yourself, why do I watch horror movies? If you do, then there you go, you figured it out. It is because you enjoy it, you enjoy being scared, It sends thrill's through your body, it makes you feel really alive. All because you know that the dangers is not real or probably serious

You might have been wondering since you started reading this article, What is the point of this post?

Overcoming fear quote

My point is this, as much as you want to get rid of all your fears try to see the good side if it, even the bible says "the fear if the lord is the beginning of wisdom" it is not a sin, and you feeling scared does not make you weak person, sometimes fear is needed to make some really wise decision. So do not let your fear, stop you from doing thing, do not let it stop you from having new experience, do not let it be a barrier to your progress and success. Instead, let it be a guide.
